Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens

The Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS telephoto zoom lens is the latest to utilize Canon's award-winning Image Stabilizer technology, while still retaining a light and compact form. The lens has a high zoom ratio, which is equivalent to a focal length of 88-400mm in the 35mm format.

The build quality of the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens is good. The plastic lens mount should give a clear indicator of the lens' target market. However, that is not to say that it doesn't perform well. It does deliver a good image quality. The provided focus ring does its job nicely, although it could be smoother. It is not a major annoyance, however.

The lens uses a Micro Motor to deliver relatively fast Autofocusing. The best thing about the autofocus, though, is its high level of accuracy. This is due to the fact that the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens has a deep Depth of Field. Unfortunately, there's no Full Time Manual focusing.

All in all, you definitely get what you pay for the lens. While it is not the best - in terms of the image quality - it does a more than adequately good job, especially considering the very inexpensive price of the lens.
