Leica Summarit-S 1:2.5/70 Asph. Lens

The new Leica Summarit-S 1:2.5 /70 ASPH lens, like other Leica's high-performance lenses, is made by hand. Using only high quality materials, the lens has a sophisticated design that features aspherical surfaces and special grades of glass. It is manufactured specifically to allow for extremely narrow tolerances, where each lens is centered by hand. This ensures its superior quality and superb optical performance.

The Leica Summarit-S 1:2.5 /70 ASPH lens produces images with extremely high quality. Distortion, chromatic aberrations and vignetting are all but unnoticeable thus allowing you to undergo intensive image corrections. This will also simplify the digital post-processing effort.

The lens features a newly developed S-bayonet mount to ensure precise and rapid digital exchange of data, as well as commands between the lens and the camera unit. As for the floating element of the lens, it helps provide a consistently high contrast performance from close-up to infinity.

It comes with an optional central shutter, which this model doesn't have.
