Nikon AF-S Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G Ed Lens

The Nikon AF-S Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED lens is the ideal choice of lens for taking close-up shots, as well as other general photography situations. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 8-inches making it ideal for macro photography. It is designed to for use with Nikon FX and DX digital SLR cameras.

The lens features 12 elements in 9 groups. Its one Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements and two aspherical elements helps reduce chromatic aberrations, while at the same time improving color, contrast and sharpness of the picture even at the widest aperture settings. It also comes with Nikon's Nano Crystal Coat and Super Integrated coating to further minimize flare and ghosting and delivers even better image clarity. The former enables the use of speed-light systems and polarizers.

The 9-blade diaphragm of the lens allows for more natural out of focus image elements. The M/A focus mode allows for smooth transitions between autofocus and manual operation.

As the Nikon AF-S Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED lens is powered by Nikon's Silent Wave Motor (SWM), the lens can achieve a super fast and accurate autofocus operation. The Internal Focus system provides silent auto focusing without changing the length of the lens.

The lens is quite compact as it measures 2.9 x 3.5" and weighs approximately 15 oz.
