The new Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G is a lightweight and compact lens that is specifically engineered for Nikon DX format digital SLR cameras. Its reproduction capability can deliver impressive picture quality that Nikkor lenses have been renowned for at a highly affordable price.

The lens features a ring type SWM that offers silent AF operation. Though all lens groups shift during focusing, the front element and filter mount do not rotate and the barrel length won't change.

The optical design of the Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G optical design allows for a different feel and look to images taken with zoom lenses. As for its dimensions, the lens is ideal to take snapshots and landscape shooting with a picture angle that approximates that of the human eye.

Featuring a rounded seven-blade diaphragm opening, it allows out-of-focus elements to appear more natural. It has two focus modes, M/A (manual override autofocus) and M (manual focus).
