Hi, Brad,

Hello, my name is Harold P. I am deaf photographer beginner. I want to tell you that there are excellent staff at Berger Bros Camera Shop in both Syosset and Amityville. I am proud for your staff to help me to get my camera equipment. I hope that I will be ready for some shoot around the New York City in Spring and Summer 2012.

I will plan to buy some different lens, pocket wizard and lighting kits from Westcott next year. I hate my current job in federal government because of bad economic in the US. To Brad, 

I made my first purchase from Berger Bros. recently. After contacting multiple stores to get information on a camera with limited availability, it was nice to talk to Lisa M. from Berger Bros. who gave me great advice and service. I'm in a customer service industry so I know what it's like to give and receive good customer service and Lisa was one of the best.

Unfortunately, there was a minor problem with the shipment, but having an actual person to contact helped rectify the problem immediately. In the world of Amazon and large online retailers, getting to deal with an actual person (not outsourced) who not only seemed to enjoy working for the company but also enjoyed the products they sold was as refreshing. I'm very happy I bought my camera through Berger Bros.

I'd like to take a moment to tell you how much I enjoyed and appreciated the buying experience I had at your Syosset store last Thursday. I brought my family down from upstate to visit with my parents last week and during the course of the visit mentioned that I was looking to upgrade to a new point & shoot digital camera for my wife and I to record my daughters' activities. My parents immediately recommended Berger Brothers as the store where my brother had purchased his own digital SLR 2 or 3 years ago and then returned to in order to purchase a pocket camera for my mother for this past Christmas. My parents are savvy shoppers and I respect their opinions. They were also thrilled with the service they received from the store's manager when my brother purchased his camera. Taking their advice, I drove out to your store and started wandering down the aisles. I was quickly approached by Frank, who introduced himself and asked how he might be of service. I had done a fair amount of web-based research ahead of time so I laid out what I thought my requirements were and asked for his advice. That began an hour plus long dialog about the attributes of various cameras, sensors, lighting & apertures, and a host of other details- the bottom line is that I ended up being handed a camera that met all of my known requirements and a few more that I hadn't even thought of. I was particularly impressed by the fact that I wasn't just handed a camera from off the shelf and told... "here, this is what you want" and escorted to the cash register for a quick sale... I was treated like a valued customer/consumer worthy of being understood and educated.

After selecting the camera and the associated extra batteries & memory chips and getting rung up, Frank then asked if I had some time for a quick training session- realizing that I was from out-of-town and wouldn't be able to take advantage of the basic training program offered with the purchase of the camera. For the next 20+ minutes I got a crash course in the finer points of digital photography and how to navigate around the menus of my new camera. I should mention here that during this 90 minute or so period, Frank was still answering the phone and assisting other customers.

I work for an organization that provides engineering and consulting services to the rest of my corporation. I've been in this "customer service" role for 30 years now and I'd like to think I know more than a little about what it takes to understand a customer's needs, earn their trust, and deliver what they need when they need it..... Frank delivered in spades. I could not have imagined a more pleasant or rewarding shopping experience... certainly not from any of the "big-box" stores which are about all that's available around here unless one is willing to take a long drive to get to the nearest city. My only regret is that you don't have a store a bit closer to home as I would not hesitate to recommend Berger Brothers to my friends and colleagues as THE place to go for photographic gear.

My thanks to you, & Frank, and the rest of your staff for all you have done to help our family with their photographic needs. It's been very much appreciated.

Ken and company.
  I would like to thank you ant the staff at Berger Brothers for going above and beyond. I had been using 35 mm for years and finally went digital and was very unhappy with almost everything. I had even considered selling the new equipment until a staff member helped me with classes. The classes gave me a direction of how to work with all the new ideas and technology having so many options of what to do with the digital pictures was over whelming and had no idea where to start. The staff gave me options and have changed a hobby back to a hobby not a chore. I now carry the Nikon D90 everywhere again and am pleased with the pictures that I have taken.

I just returned home from the Digital SLR 101 class with Alan Perlman. What a wonderful teacher he is! He explained things in a way that final made sense to me. Like aperature...I not only got that its an opening, but its relation to f-stops. I was beginning to think that an f-stop was a variant of profanity. I purchased his book and will begin reading right after this e-mail. I'd love to take more classes with him, and I will certainly be registering for as many as I can fit it! Just a quick few lines to thank you.  Last  summer I purchased a Panasonic Lumix LX3 camera which I am delighted  with, while always trying to gain the maximum performance from the  camera I noticed that a new firmware update was available.   Unfortunately I was torn between the thought..... if it works leave a  alone... or improve the performance. I called your Amityville store,   explained my lack of confidence in doing the firmware update and asked  if you would be kind enough to do it  for me.  Without hesitation, one  of your salesman said sure, bring it in.  Brought my camera in that  same day and right before me you installed the firmware for me.  You   guys have restored my faith in consumer service, I will continue to do  business with you for all my photography needs as I have in the past  and again thank you, hopefully others will follow your lead which  sorely lacks in customer service. My experience with Berger Bros. (2 camera purchases now) has been simply terrific. They are very customer oriented, accessible, patient with questions, and responsive. They do what they say they will do and genuinely seem to care about the experience their customers have. I would like to single out Lisa M., who handles the call-in purchases. She is extremely professional and nothing but patient with customers anxious to get status on an item that is highly in demand and short in supply. Without question, they will have my business for subsequent camera and equipment purchases and are now my E-tailer of choice.

You went way out of your way to ship out the camera on Saturday and, God bless the USPS, it arrived Monday. My wife went into labor Tuesday morning and gave birth to a brand new baby girl Tuesday night at 11:31 pm. I was able to capture her first breath and first hug with her mom in glorious HD thanks to you and I am forever grateful.

I don’t know any other business that would go to the lengths you did for someone you didn’t even know. I really appreciate everything you did for me and my new family.

Since 2002, I have participated in tutorials and technical presentations by many world famous speakers in the technology and techniques of Photoshop CS through CS-4. These speakers are revered for their extensive knowledge in all nuances of Adobe's programs. However in most cases, there is always a difficulty in following and obtaining a working knowledge of the subject matter. One leaves puzzled about what one has been exposed to.

I have been richly rewarded in the past few years by attending the seminars hosted by Berger Bros. Camera Stores. A highly talented educator and speaker who most effectively reaches out to every audience member is Ms. Yvonne Bassett-Berger. She has the knack of reading audience response and tailoring her talk and visual presentations so that almost everyone present can come away with new digital knowledge. The data sheets provided at the seminar are simple to follow and an attendee can usually become very proficient in the subject matter once home and on the computer.

Members of my photo club (The Huntington Camera Club - a group of 100 beginners and advanced shooters in digital photography) all speak very highly of the skills learned from Ms. Bassett-Berger.

As a master in the photographic arts and one with 66 years of experience, I offer my praise and strong positive recommendations to any individual or organization that would like to enhance their skills and abilities by engaging Yvonne as a presenter. She will be an asset to all members in attendance.

In the early years I did my buying from the Amityville store but I now do all my buying from the store in Syosset all because of Andrzej Krycinski. I have to tell you an experience I just had with Berger Brother camera today. About a month ago I ordered the new Tamron 18-270 VC lens which was not yet released. Last week Berger Brothers received the lens in the store for the Nikon mount and expected the Canon mount "any day".  Since I am going to Israel on October 22, I was anxious to get it with the thought it would be nice just to have ONE lens to travel .
I called the store today to see if by chance they got it in and was told they did!!! I rushed down to the store only to be told the lenses were at Fed Ex (a mistake by the clerk) . Brad Berger came out to talk to me and said would I be home tonight because he was going up to FedEx later to get them and would drop it off at my house. I told him actually no since I would be at a board meeting and no one would be home at night. 
 When Brad realized I was leaving tomorrow and not be home tonight, he dropped what he was doing and said, "Let's go to FedEx right now and I'll give it to you there (FedEx is on my way home). So off we went in two cars.. When we got to FedEx, the clerk told him he could not get his box since it was still in the "container" which was going to be opened on Wednesday. Brad Berger then asked to speak to the manager because he thought that ridiculous. Meanwhile, I am totally fine with not having the lens for my trip since I do have lenses so no big deal.... but not to Brad. Needless to say, he got FedEx to open the container to get his shipment of FOUR Tamron lenses so I could have mine for my trip.  How many store OWNERS do you know that would drop everything and personal go to this extreme so that a customer would be happy????
I just want to the club to know what a stand up person Brad Berger is when he comes next week for the Canon talk.  Bobbie Turner

I'm very happy to report that my Leica Vario Elmar 14-150 mm lens
arrived in perfect condition a few moments ago, less than 24 hours after I placed my order. A word
of appreciation for your amazingly good service is clearly in order. Your pricing on this lens
was competitive and you were the only vendor I found who actually had it in stock, which you took
the trouble to personally confirm while I was on the line. You got it to UPS within minutes so as not
to miss their last pickup. I'm not sure how many companies would do that for a customer who
called after 5 pm.

In a world where there are usually layers upon layers of screeners
at every business, it was nice to have the owner pick up the phone and take an order. I really

The D700 made it just fine. Its charged and ready for action. Hopefully that will come this weekend. Once again you are "da bomb" in terms of exceeding all of my expectations as regards my deadly "Nikon Acqiusition Syndrome". We spkoe on Sunday and the camera arrived on Wednesday! I will continue to laud your support whenever I get the opportunity. As you know, I've been heavily involved in photography for many years. I was the successful bidder a few days ago for an Olympus C-765 camera from your store through e-Bay.  What a wonderful experience!! Within the package was your form letter asking for any positive posts about your company.  I am still on a slow learning curve with this internet thing and I do not know how to post or blog, etc.  If you have someone who can show/explain to me over the phone  how to do that,  I gladly will extol your credibility and excellent customer service.

My old C-765 was recently lost in NYC.  A newer  model that I purchased was just not to my liking so for the first time I went on line and finally found your camera offering on E-Bay.  You described it as in "mint condition" and to my delight it was better than "mint condition". Like it just rolled off the factory line!!! To my further delight were all the accessories  still in the original package, like a battery, battery charger, etc., etc. I am 69 years old.  When I opened the box and saw its contents and tested everything, I felt like I was 6 years old again and Santa Clause had just left our apartment.

Further, I had to deal with one of your employees as I wanted the camera shipped to a different address than my new E-Bay account. I had the pleasure of talking with Garrett who was very pleasant, patient and most helpful in guiding me through the E-Bay process of adding a second address.

I do not have many camera needs, but when I do, I will make every effort to use you folks. If you come across any other "mint condition" C-765 cameras, let me know.  I think it is the best overall camera for so many reasons and would like to gift some to my grandchildren.

Just a quick note to say that I am seriously impressed with the staff you have there.  I think they deserve a pay rise for the very knowledgable, speedy and courteous service they have just provided me with.  I've contacted a few overseas companies re purchasing these lenses but not had much help.  I got your company name from one of the Digital Photography sites and forums I use.  I noted Berger Brothers company name and also Lisa's name had been recommended a few times for excellent service.  I contacted Lisa and have just bought 2 new Sony lenses and a filter kit.  Now I know the recommendations and service are as good as they are, I'll definitely be contacting Lisa at Berger Bros for any future purchases. 
 
Needless to say, I'm a very happy customer and looking forward to collecting my new toys when I arrive in Chicago on Saturday.  Please make sure you pass on my thanks to Lisa, I hope you appreciate what an asset you have there.

I cannot give enough praise to Brad Berger and his entire team of professionals. They are more committed to their customers and to making sure they deliver the best possible service than you will ever encounter anywhere. When Nikon announced the D3, I placed orders with several different outfits, including B&H, Ritz Camera, Adorama and Berger Bros. I had never done business with Berger Bros. before. But, as you can see, I wanted to make sure that I would maximize my chances of getting the camera as quickly as possible, knowing that Nikon would be very selective in its delivery of the camera to retailers. I called Ritz to find out the status of my order. I got someone in INDIA who fed me a line of bull. B&H just couldn't be bothered. When I called Berger Bros., I was immediately connected to Brad. I never told Brad I had placed orders with others. But it didn't matter. He personally hounded Nikon and kept me closely apprised and the second the camera was on his loading dock, he was on the line to me to get it into my hands. I am just blown away.

I have recently discovered Berger Brothers with a tip from a computer forum member.  What a mind-blowingly pleasant experience!  These people are knowledgeable and eager to keep the customer happy.  If you like talking to really nice people about a purchase, I heartily recommend Berger Brothers.  They promised to call me back when they took delivery of the camera, said they would charge the card only when it shipped, and did exactly what they promised.  If you could see through the telephone wires, you would have seen really friendly faces.  It was a pleasure dealing with this company.

Just wanted to tell you that my latest visit to your store, when I bought my
Nikon D200 (and all the hardware that goes with it) was one of the most
gratifying buying experiences to date.

Brad treated me more like an old friend than just another customer, and Bret
my salesman was not only knowledgable and professional, but went overboard to
help me select the proper camera case, filters, memory cards, etc.

I will be coming back often now that I know what terrific service I can get
right here on Long Island. I was formerly a B & H customer; not anymore
considering how friendly and professional Berger Bros. has shown themselves to
be.

Brad.............I wanted to let you know that the D2X, etc. arrived here safely and on time. Everything appears to be in working order, other than the fact that I have to read the manual for this camera! I'd like to thank you for a great buying experience. I just posted on Nikonians, and also posted a review on resellerratings.com. When I finished the review, the site page said that it can take up to 48 hours for new reviews to be placed on the website, but I gave your store an excellent review. I know that you will do well selling the D2X while it is still a hot commodity. The real strength of what you have done for us Nikonians will come later, when there are no in-demand Nikon products that we are aching to buy. I think that you will now see many of us calling you for our standard purchases for things like lenses and accessories. You will certainly get future orders from me! Thanks again!..........Brian
