Nikon AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G Ed VR Lens

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR lens is a compact 5.5x telephoto zoom lens with High Refractive Index lens element.

The High Refractive Index elements are essential to keep the size of the lens compact, while at the same time still producing images with high contrast even at maximum aperture. Coupled with the lens' 2 Extra-low Dispersion (ED) elements, the lens can deliver images with minimum chromatic aberrations even at the widest available aperture.

The lens is powered by the exclusive Nikon Silent Wave Monitor (SWM) to achieve incredibly fast, silent and accurate autofocus.

Nikon has also equipped the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR lens with the newly developed Nikon Vibration Reduction II (VR) Image Stabilization technology, which enables handheld shooting at up to 4 shutter speeds slower. This allows the lens to produce much sharper images. It also has a new Tripod detection mode, which reduces vibration that may occur due to shutter release when the lens is attached on a tripod.
