The new Sony 28mm f/2.8 lens gives you the tool to produce sharp images, with high-contrast -- whether you're working indoors, taking shots of people in groups, or taking panoramic shots of landscapes and cityscapes. The lens -- which mounts easily on selected Sony DSLRs -- provides a near-standard 42mm focal length (35mm equivalent), with wide-angle optics and a deep depth of field. The lens features 4 groups and 5 elements with 7 aperture blades. The latter helps the lens produce natural and smooth out of focus picture elements. Due to the lens's compact size and light weight, as it measures 2.56 x 1.56-inches and weighs a light 7 ounces, carrying the lens when traveling or performing long shooting sessions has never been easier. In addition, the lens comes with a convenient built-in sliding lens hood that gives added protection for your precious optics and makes it faster and easier to switch lenses.
