Lensbaby is known for producing unique and special optical effects, and with the OMNI Creative Filter System, they have created a fun and practical way to shoot through objects in order to create colorful flare, reflections, and bright, ethereal light streaks. Differing from a creative lens, the OMNI system is a method for placing objects, such as crystals, films, and other translucent substrates, in front of your lens to produce distinct effects. Additionally, by having these objects attached to the front of your lens, instead of hand-holding them, you can achieve more repeatable and predictable results.
This Large system is designed for lenses with filter threads ranging from 62-82mm, and comprises a filter ring with a 72mm thread, along with step-up rings for 62mm, 67mm, and 72mm sizes and a step-down ring for 82mm threads. Included with the ring are three Effect Wands (Crystal Seahorse, Stretch Glass, and Rainbow Film), along with two arms for holding the objects and two magnets for securing the arms to the filter ring.
- The Crystal Seahorse is a unique, organic-shaped crystal with a multitude of angles and edge scallops to produce complex flare, light redirection, and bright and colorful reflections.
- The Stretch Glass has a large planar surface area that helps to create bright stretches and streaks of light over the image. Shooting through the flat and curved sides yields a controllable streaky quality while shooting through the glass at an angle can produce colorful, reflective, and luminous results.
- The Rainbow Film diffracts light and produces beaming rainbows from any bright light source.
- Included filter ring has 77mm threads for attaching directly to a lens, or 62mm, 67mm, and 72mm step-up rings are also included for attaching to smaller filter thread sizes. An 82mm step-down ring is also included, however may cause vignetting when used on wide-angle lenses with focal lengths shorter than 50mm.

This large OMNI Ring Set from Lensbaby allows for the convenient use of up to four separately available Lensbaby OMNI Creative Filters on lenses with 82mm, 77mm, 72mm, 67mm, or 62mm front filter threads.
Use of the large OMNI Ring Set can be easily accomplished by first screwing the included 77mm filter ring onto a lens with 77mm front filter threads. Step-down rings are included to allow the filter ring to be used with lenses that have 72mm, 67mm, or 62mm front filter threads, while a step-up ring is included to allow the filter ring to be used with lenses that have 82mm front filter threads. After the filter ring is fitted onto a lens, its two included magnetic mounts can accommodate up to four separately available OMNI Creative Filters each with an attached Lensbaby OMNI Creative Filter Effect Wand.
For additional flexibility when positioning an OMNI Creative Filter in front of a lens, two accessory arms are included with this ring set. When placed between one of the filter ring's magnetic mounts and an OMNI Creative Filter on an effect wand, a greater variety of creative angles become available relative to that OMNI Creative Filter and the lens behind it.
For easier removal of the filter ring, a step-down ring, or the step-up ring from a lens, a filter wrench is also provided.
The Universal Expansion Pack with Shapes from Lensbaby adds mirrored colored shapes, plus clear shapes with diffractive edges for a variety of flare effects. It also adds an infinitely configurable light leak, variable contrast, and bokeh-modifying shapes to the robust selection of custom designed special effects already available in the OMNI Filter system.
Two low profile universal clamps plus two universal clamps on handles let you mount flat or cylindrical items up to 1/4-inch thick into the OMNI Filter's magnetic filter system. Securely hold the desired shoot-through items exactly where they provide the desired effect, while freeing up both hands to work unencumbered while photographing a subject through your unique vision. In addition to the four universal clamps, The Universal Expansion Pack with Shapes includes two more long extension arms that make it possible to center even the largest shaped insert over the front of a lens, plus two magnetic bases and an array of shaped small and large inserts to get quickly adjustable, repeatable effects that were previously difficult, if not impossible, to create. The eight shaped inserts range from a long, skinny blue and silver mirror full of Swiss-cheese-like holes of various sizes to reflective grids in silver, purple, and gold that can be shot straight through for textures and selectively reduced contrast or at an angle for partial reflection effects reminiscent of light leaks.
