The red-hot center of Peak Design tripod design theory is spatial efficiency. Specifically, the idea that non-circular legs and a non-circular center column could be designed and engineered in a way to maximize packed spatial efficiency, without sacrificing any stability or features.

This concept of spatial efficiency was the driving force behind our award-winning Travel Tripod, and it remains the overarching theory of how we think a tripod should be designed as we introduce this new line of Pro Tripods. Traditional professional-grade tripods in this class are still using inefficient cylindrical legs, not to mention costing up to $2000 USD and weighing 5 or more pounds... we think this corner of the market is overdue for a shake up.

There are no two-ways around it: photographers and filmmakers continue to shoot on large cameras, often with big pieces of glass, frequently in very demanding environments. What good is all that gear and all the work of getting to locations if your tripod isn't up to the task? Whether it's longer exposures, massive focal lengths, or even many video applications, Pro Tripod is designed to be a wildly stable platform for creation.

Remove the Counterweight Hook to reveal a hidden compartment within the center column where you can tuck the Foldable Hex Tool (included) or our Mobile Mount (available separately). Use that Foldable Hex Toolto attach, tighten, or detach the included ARCA-compatible Peak Design Standard Plate or perform some basic tripod maintenance in the field. Plus, every Pro Tripod comes with a Carrying Sleeve designed by the award-winning Peak Design softgoods department, complete with an integrated strap.

Want to shoot with both fluid panning AND fluid tilt? Add-on our collapsible Tilt Mod, an ingenious little tool that takes up less space than a lens, slaps onto our Pro Ball Head, and immediately offers fluid tilt to the fluid pan native to the Pro Tripod family. What allows for Peak Design Pro Tripod to just need one additional piece to become a video tripod? Our panning ring sits above the ball head articulation, so you can lock your Pro Ball Head to level and then let just panning and tilt be your axis of articulation, perfect for filmmaking.

Have a burly video tripod head that you want to put on Pro Tripod's legs? Add-on our Pro Leveling Base, complete with 20 degrees of articulation and a built-in leveling bubble to make shooting on uneven terrain a breeze. Uses a standard 3/8”-16 screw size for connection, plus has three security screws to make sure your tripod head is secure.

Want to shoot on your mobile phone? Add on our Creator Kit and join the Peak Design Mobile Ecosystem. The Creator Kit attaches using an ARCA-compatible plate, locking in securely to the Pro Ball Head. It uses our SlimLink Connection System to then connect to your Peak Design Everyday Phone Case or any third party phone case using our Universal Adapter. Pro tip: combine with the Tilt Mod for truly up-leveled mobile video creation.

Want a bulletproof solution to always have a phone mount option on hand? Snag a Mobile Mount, a simple mount that can stow in the Center Column when not in use. Note: does not work with Tilt Mod. Double Note: does not offer portrait shooting unless you re-orient the Tripod Head.
