June 3rd is National Running Day!

2nd Jun 2015

When taking sports pictures or other fast paced related images remember these couple of steps.

  • Use a fast shutter speed: Try starting out with a shutter speed of 1/500 of a second. Be sure to take a few test pictures first and check your images as you go. If blurring is still prominent then try going to an even higher shutter speed.
  • Use a wide aperture: A wide aperture will capture more light and blue the background so the focus is on the subject in action.
  • Use Burst Mode: This mode allows you to take several shots at a time which is optimal for getting a good sports photo. The downside is that burst mode will use up more space in your memory card.
  • Increase your ISO: If your camera is struggling to properly expose your images then you may have to increase your ISO settings. Such an increase may add noise to your image, but with the proper skills it can be edited.

Happy National Running Day!
